![]() The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Track and Field Team garnered several regional honors by the USTFCCCA for the 2012 outdoor season in NCAA Division II. USTFCCCA is the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association. Lenoir-Rhyne senior Kate Griewisch (Banner Elk, N.C.) was named the women's track athlete of the year for the Southeast Region for the second straight season. Meanwhile, L-R's Jason Stewart was named the women's region head coach of the year and Jon Sharp was selected as the women's region assistant coach of the year. Griewisch broke three school records this outdoor season in the 1,500-meter (4:32), 5,000-meter (16:20) and 10,000-meter (33:44) runs. Griewisch's 10K time is ranked third nationally and she will compete in both the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs at the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 24-26 in Pueblo, Colo.
