Five members of the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field squads have been selected to the 2012 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Team. USTFCCCA is the United States Track and Field

and Cross Country Coaches Association.
On the women's side, senior Kate Griewisch (Banner Elk, N.C.) and junior Samantha Levine (Wayne, N.J.) garnered all-region accolades. Griewisch earned all-region honors in three events: the 1,500-meter, 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs.
Griewisch holds school records in all three events - 1,500 (4:32), 5,000 (16:20) and 10,000 (33:44) - and will compete in the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 24-26 in Pueblo, Colo.
Griewisch will run in both the 5K and 10K in the national finals next week.
Griewisch is also an NCAA Division II All-American in three different sports: women's cross country (2009-11), outdoor track and field (2011) and indoor track and field (2012).
Levine is the school's record-holder in the javelin throw (122'08") and finished first at both the PowerSox Invitational (March 3) and VertKlasse Meeting (March 24) this season.
For the Lenoir-Rhyne men, junior Artis Gilmore (Asheville, N.C.), sophomore Aaron Nelson (Mayodan, N.C.) and freshman Jarrod Spears (Bunnlevel, N.C.) were named to the All-Southeast Region Team.
Gilmore earned the honor in the triple jump, an event where he holds the school record (47'7.25"), while Spears was selected for the 100-meter dash. Spears' best time was 10.99 seconds, good for a third-place finish at the Southeast Regional Championship (April 21) in Hickory, N.C.
Finally, Nelson picked up all-region laurels in the pole vault. On April 20 at the Southeast Regionals at home, Nelson won the pole vault with a school-record 13'11.25".
