The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team placed three players on the NFCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Softball Teams. NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. L-R sophomore third baseman Haily Jarman (Wadesboro, N.C.) earned first-team all-region accolades while senior catcher Sarah Atkins (Newport News, Va.) and junior first baseman

Jessica Fellmeth (Waxhaw, N.C.) were selected to the second team. Jarman led L-R in batting average (.390), runs scored (51), hits (76), doubles (18), triples (five), total bases (158) and slugging percentage (.656) while starting all 61 games en route to second-team all-conference laurels.
Atkins is an all-region selection for the third time in her career after finishing second on the squad in home runs (11) and runs batted in (48) this season in addition to a .322 batting average.
Atkins, a 2010 NCAA Division II Second-Team All-American, leaves Lenoir-Rhyne as the program's all-time leader in home runs (46), runs batted in (190) and base on balls (109). Atkins also played and started in 61 games in 2012.
Fellmeth finished with 14 home runs and 56 runs batted in this spring, both team-highs, while hitting .323 and slugging .611 for the year. Both Fellmeth and Atkins were 2012 First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference picks who earned All-Southeast Region honors by Daktronics earlier in the week. All three players guided Lenoir-Rhyne to a 48-13 record this season in addition to conference regular season and tournament championships for the third consecutive year.
L-R also advanced to the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the seventh straight season and qualified to the Southeast Regional Championship this past Sunday in Savannah, Ga. NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions selected this year's All-Region teams and all honorees are now eligible to be selected to one of three All-American teams.

The 2012 NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on NFCA.org on the evening of Wednesday, May 16.
