The times, they are a’changing for the US Postal Service with the advent of email, instant messaging, and competitive overnight mail services. Last month, over 1,000 US Postmasters gathered in Washington, DC to discuss with lawmakers changes and improvements they believe will mean better service for anyone using the nation’s mail.
This year one of those visitors was West Jefferson Postmaster, Drew Martin. As Vice President of the North Carolina Postmaster’s Association, Martin was invited to be a member of the North Carolina delegation. He said they were able to address many issues and he felt the meetings were successful and that they made important inroads on meeting their goals.
