![]() Watauga High junior Tyler Jones will represent the Pioneers at the North Carolina State Games in JUne in Winston-Salem. Jones, a two-year varsity starter on the baseball team, will play for District 7. Jones, despite a sore arm, has turned in a solid season for the Pioneers. He's batting .366 (26-71) with eight doubles, two triples, 13 runs-batted-in, 14 runs scored and as team-leading nine stolen bases. The state games for baseball will be played June 13-17. The games will be played at BB&T Ball Park, Wake Forest University and Kernersville-Glenn. District 7 begins competition at BB&T Field June 14 against Region 1 at 4 p.m. The finals will be played at BB&T Field on Sunday, June 17.
