On Thursday April 26, Officers responded to Walmart and arrested an employee for felony larceny.  The employee, Michael Richard Drake, worked as a cashier and allegedly took money from his register over a period of time.  Drake, age 20 of Excalibur Circle in Boone, was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where he was given a June 26, 2012 court date, then booked into the detention center under a $15,000 secured bond. Also arrested on Thursday was Carrie Nicole Wells, age 34 of Hodges Gap Road.  Wells is alleged to have taken and written three of a neighbor’s checks.  Wells turned herself in to Boone Police and was taken before a magistrate before being released on a $10,000 unsecured bond with a June 26, 2012 court date.
