Hospitality House Closing in on Record PDF Print

Only five days remain to take the Feinstein Challenge and join Hospitality House in their bid to end hunger in the High Country. A record number of individuals, schools, businesses and churches have taken the Feinstein Challenge and have raised almost $60,000 since March 1st. “The response from the community has been incredible, states Hospitality House director of services Tina Krause. “We’ve had groups coming by every day to either drop off food or present us with a check.”
In these final days Hospitality House is reminding folks that pledges and stock donations also count toward the final tally. “If people want to give more but don’t have the means at this time, they can make a monthly, quarterly or annual pledge and we get to count that in our total, says director of development Todd Carter. “If they are waiting on a tax refund or want to designate a stock dividend they can pledge those as well.”
With a goal of $75,000, Hospitality House partnered with the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation and will receive a partial match grant based on the total amount raised by April 30th, 2012.
There’s still time to do your part! Take the Feinstein Challenge by donating online at; making a pledge, directing a stock dividend, mailing a check (noting Feinstein Challenge in memo line) to Hospitality House PO Box 309 Boone NC 28607 or bringing your cash, check or food (each item counts as $1) by the Hospitality House at 338 Brook Hollow Rd Boone NC.
All donations (cash, check, pledge, stock or food) made to Hospitality House by April 30th that mention the Feinstein Challenge will be counted. For more information on the Feinstein Foundation go to
