![]() Watauga County Commissioners found the ‘other’ side of the issue of the ‘One man, one woman’ constitutional amendment set for a vote along with the May primary. The time devoted to public comment was well used by seven speakers criticizing the action of the commission two weeks ago approving a resolution supporting the marriage constitutional amendment, comments from Catherine Hopkins personalizing her perspective, "She chose suicide over stigma. Bearing witness to such agony broke something in me that I will never recover. I speak out tonight for her and for all others who have suffered and died."
