 The Watuaga High men's tennis team kept its unblemished record intact in league play Monday afternoon. The Pioneers defeated Hibriten twice in a Northwestern 3A/4A Conference match in Lenior. The Pioneers
(10-0 NW3A/4A; 14-1 overall) won the suspended match by knocking off Hibriten 5-1 in the opener; they won the regularly-scheduled match, 9-0. Landon Taylor, Chris Ludwig, Aaron Evans, Jackson Yates and Noah Moomaw were victorious in singles play in the opening match; Mike Smith, Taylor, Ludwig, Harrison Battle, Evans and Yates were singles winners in the second match. Smith and Battle picked up a win at No.1 doubles; Taylor and Ludwig won at No.2 doubles; Evans and Moomaw were victorious at No.3 doubles. The Pioneers entertain St. Stephens on Thursday on Senior Day.
