“Just this past week, I voted to do away with $4 Billion in tax incentives and tax credits for the five big oil companies.” US Senator Kay Hagan drew applause as she talked pocketbook issues as she met with area residents at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center this morning,
as part of both her North Carolina Back to Work Jobs Tour and “Conversations with Kay.” She went on to say, “Last year, they made $137 Billion dollars. It was 75% than they made last year.” The Senator expanded her ideas about oil issues in questions from the press, saying she voted for the Keystone Pipeline, but wanted stringent environmental controls. She then toured downtown, going to the Art of Oil, Doe Ridge Pottery, and Mast Store, among others, questioning merchants on their own economic issues. |
