Watuaga High football coach Tim Pruitt, who is about it enter his fifth year at the helm with the PIoneers, has released his schedule for the upcoming 2012 season. And the Pioneers, who raised a few

eyebrows last fall, will open the season in Asheville against A.C. Reynolds on Friday, August 17.
The Pioneers (7-6 last season) will play Ashe County in their home opener on Friday, August 24. The Pioneers, who snapped a three-game losing streak in the state playoffs last season, will play six home games this season. The Pioneers will play South Caldwell in their Homecoming game October 12; and they will play St. Stephens on Senior Night October 26. The Pioneers take on Fred T. Foard in their Northwestern 3A/4A Conference opener September 14.
The Pioneers, who produced their first winning season since 2007, will play their endowment game at Elizabethton, TN., September 28. And like last year, the Pioneers will not take a bye week this season.
