A Watauga County man—a now former Band Director at Ashe County High School, has been indicted by the Ashe Superior Court Grand Jury, charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a student.  Sheriff James Williams reports that his office started the investigation over a month ago, yielding the charges against Ryan Claar, 32, who he says lists a Watauga County address.   Williams said that Claar had been employed as the band instructor for the past year and a half, and was suspended when the investigation started several weeks back.  The release says Claar later resigned.  His arraignment on the charges is set for this Thursday, at which time the warrants will be served and bond set.
