Tim Wilson, candidate for Watauga County Commission, was charged with several counts after a series of incidents Thursday evening. Boone Police responded to wreck report near the ASU convocation center, then found two wrecks caused by same vehicle, which fled the scene.
Both crashes had apparently been caused by the same suspect vehicle, which had remained at the site of the second crash, according to police. A woman from the first crash was transported by ambulance to Watauga Medical Center with unknown injuries. The driver of the suspect vehicle, Danny Tim Wilson, age 61 of Boone, was subsequently charged by police with Driving While Impaired, felony hit and run, two counts of unsafe movement, and failure to notify a law enforcement officer of having a concealed weapon permit. Wilson was the owner of the former EMS provider to Watauga, Watauga Ambulance Service and Watauga EMS. He was booked into the Watauga County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond with a May 15, 2012 court date.
