Time for a pocket check—might want to check your jeans—they could be carrying around a quarter million dollars.  According to the website for Mega Millions—the game a part of the North Carolina Education Lottery—two winning tickets, paying off $250,000 each,

were drawn in the February 10th lottery, one sold in Wilkes.  That ticket was sold at the JP Wilkesboro (Sav-Mor) convenience store on U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro. The other was sold to Mike Bollinger, a police officer and emergency medical technician from Maiden. After 25 percent taken out for federal taxes and 7 percent for state taxes, Bollinger took home $170,000.
Each of the tickets matched all five white balls in the Feb. 10 drawing, beating odds of one in 3.9 million.
The other ticket—the one sold at the Sav-Mor store in Wilkesboro that hasn’t been turned in yet. Van Denton, media spokesman for the N.C. Education Lottery said a person with a winning ticket has 180 days to claim cash winnings. Any winnings totaling $100,000 or more must be claimed in person in Raleigh.
