Cove Creek second graders visited the new Watauga Humane Society shelter to meet the dogs and cats available for adoption. They learned about humane care of animals and safety around animals. With the help of their teachers, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Reece, they raised enough money to sponsor an animal. (photo by Ree Strawser)
They chose to sponsor Loretta saying they “loved and learned from Loretta.” The students were enthusiastic about their experience and were gentle and caring with all the animals they met. To schedule a visit to the Humane Society or arrange a classroom visit email
