The results are still coming in, but early indicators show that this year’s Celebrity Serve was a tremendous success. With a few participating restaurants still to report their totals, this year’s event has raised over $43,000 dollars to benefit Watauga County Make A Wish Foundation.
That’s compared to the $18,000 that Celebrity Serve raised last year. Some of that increase may be due to the fact that last year was the event’s first year. This year also brought the addition of several new restaurants to the event, which enabled it to run through breakfast, lunch and dinner. And, no doubt, the participation of ASU’s Chi Omega Sorority and growth in student support also had an impact.
