Mark LeGree continues his nomad journey through the National Football League. LeGree, the three-time first-team All-America from St. Helena Island, S.C., was signed to a Reseve/Future contract by the

San Francisco 49ers on January 24. It's his second go-round with the Niners. They signed him to their practice squad back on November 15 of last year and released him two weeks later on November 29.
LeGree was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round (156th pick) of the NFL Draft last April before he was released at the end of training camp. He was the only draft pick the Seahawks released.
LeGree has also been signed by Arizona (September 21) and the New York Jets (December 13) to their practice squads, respectively.
LeGree finished his career as the active leader in NCAA Division I with 22 career interceptions; the 22 interceptions are good for second in Southern Conference history and third in ASU’s all-time annals.

Former Appalachian State University pitcher Garrett Sherrill signed a minor-league contract with the Miami Marlins on December 15.
Sherrill, who was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 12th round of the Major League Baseball Draft in 2008, has spent the better part of the last two years battling back from an arm injury he suffered during his stay in the Brewers' farm system.
Sherrill joins former Mountaineer Rand Smith in the Miami organization. Right-handed pitcher Josh Dowdy (Baltimore Orioles), RHP Zach Quate (Tampa Bay Rays) and outfielder David Rubinstein (Pittsburgh Pirates) round out the former ASU players still in the professional ranks.
