 The Watauga High JV boys basketball remained perfect by blasting St. Stephens 45-19 Tuesday night in a Northwestern 3A/4A Conference game in Catawba County. The Pioneers (15-0 overall; 5-0 NW3A/4A) broke the game open by
outscoring the Indians 13-1 in the third quarter, opening up a 39-17 lead. Jay Harrill led the Pioneers with 12 points. Cameron Baker had eight points, five steals and nine rebounds; Eli Gailes had seven points, seven assists and six steals; Jake Chasteen had six points and seven boards; T.J. Poulos had four points, four assists and four steals. St. Stephens defeated the WHS JV girls, 28-22. Clare Harris led the Pioneers with nine points. Elle Sloboda and Madi Brown each had four points. |
