Cashion, Smith Tabbed Preseason All-SoCon PDF Print

Appalachian State softball’s Allie Cashion and Meghan Smith were tabbed preseason first-team all-Southern Conference on Wednesday announced by College Sports Madness.
Cashion earned first-team all-SoCon honors

and was named a member of the conference all-tournament team last spring.  The Waxhaw, N.C. native led the Mountaineers with 46 RBIs and was sixth in the SoCon with a .607 slugging percentage.  She recorded a team-best 14 doubles and blasted eight homeruns.
Smith was tabbed first-team all-SoCon last season, and led ASU with a .359 batting average, 55 hits, 16 multiple hit games, 12 multi-RBI games, and 89 total bases.  The Stafford, Va. native was ranked eighth in batting average and slugging percentage (.582), and also fifth with 41 RBIs. 
The Mountaineers start their season at the Tiger Invitational on Friday February 10 in Auburn, Ala where they will face-off with IPFW, Alabama State, Wright State and Auburn.
