 The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked eighth in this week's NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll after capturing the program's first Conference Carolinas regular season championship, announced NCAA officials Wednesday. Lees-McRae (12-3-1, 11-1 CC) rebounded
from a rough start to the season with a tremendous run of form, winning each of its first 11 matches in conference play to clinch its first outright conference title in program history. The Bobcats are also ranked among the nation's leaders in a pair of statistical categories, entering the week listed fourth in scoring offense (3.47) and seventh in shutout percentage (0.733), while owning the country's 19th-best winning percentage (0.833). North Georgia College & State University (13-1-0) tops the first region this week, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne University (14-1-0), Armstrong Atlantic State University (12-2-2), Columbus State University (12-3-1), and Lander University (12-3-1). Wingate University (11-3-0) is sixth, followed by Tusculum College (8-6-0), Lees-McRae, University of North Carolina at Pembroke (7-4-3), and Mount Olive College (9-3-2). Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on Mars Hill College in their regular season finale. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.

Lees-McRae Remains 6th In NCAA SE Regional Poll
The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is ranked sixth in this week's NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll after securing a pair of pivotal extra time wins over Coker College and Limestone College in its last two matches, announced NCAA officials Wednesday. Lees-McRae (12-4-1, 9-2 Conference Carolinas) has won eight of its last nine matches to secure at least the second seed in next week's Conference Carolinas Tournament, having registered perhaps the result of the season with a 1-0 extra time victory over then-No. 7 Coker on Saturday. Coker (13-2-0) tops the region this week, followed by Anderson University (13-2-0), Flagler College (11-3-1), Mars Hill College (9-2-1), and the University of Montevallo (6-3-4). Lees-McRae is sixth, followed by Lander University (7-5-2), Tusculum College (6-4-2), North Georgia College & State University (7-6-1), and University of North Carolina at Pembroke (8-3-2).
