Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that Thursday's Class 4A Sectional championship volleyball match will officially tip-off at 6 p.m.
The Pioneers, who have been to the sectional finals nine consecutive times dating back to 2003 with two regional appearances (2003 and 2008),

will be taking on Lake Norman, which defeated them in the sectional title game last season at Lentz-Eggers Gym.
Lake Norman (22-5), the No.2 seed from the I-Meck Conference, advanced by defeating North Mecklenburg 3-1 in Tuesday's second round. The Pioneers (20-7) advanced by knocking off A.C. Reynolds 3-0 at Lentz-Eggers Gym. The Pioneers have won five in a row.
The winner advances to regionals on Saturday against the winner of McDowell and Hough. The regionals finals will be played on Monday, October 31; the state finals will be played Saturday, November 5 at the Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.
