WHS Tennis To Host Myers Park In Playoff Opener PDF Print

The Watauga High women's tennis team will host Myers Park in the opening round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Class 4A Dual-Team State Playoffs at the Sports Complex.
The Pioneers (13-4) are the No.1 seed from the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference; the Mustangs (11-3) are the No.2 seed from the Southwestern 4A Conference. The winner will play either A.C. Reynolds or Pfafftown Reagan in a second-round match next Tuesday, october 25. WHS shared a co-championship with Hickory in the NW3A/4A Conference; the Class 4A Western Regional will be played this weekend, Friday and Saturday, October 21-22 at South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte.
Meredith Smith and Hannah Petersen will represent the Pioneers in singles play; and Sarah Petersen and Margaret Anagnos will play doubles. The top four finishers in singles and doubles play will advance to the state tournament at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Park in Raleigh, October 28-29.
