The Watauga County Sheriff’s office has received a report of a scam that is occurring in Watauga, Wilkes and Iredell Counties. The scam involves a black male, approximately 55 years old driving a White Honda Civic.
The black male approaches individuals at restaurants and tells them that he has a daughter at Appalachian State and asks for gas money. The reported incidents have occurred during the night time hours.If you are approached by this individual, please contact your local law enforcment agency
