Bobcats Ranked Fourth Nationally In Scoring PDF Print

The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked fourth in the nation in scoring offense, and is listed in 10 other individual and team categories in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Monday. Lees-McRae (8-2-1, 7-0 Conference Carolinas) has enjoyed a tremendous run of run recently, earning a result from each of its last nine matches, while posting seven straight victories to open conference play. The Bobcats enter the week ranked fourth in scoring offense (3.36), 14th in shutout percentage (0.636), 32nd in winning percentage (0.773), and 42nd in goals against average (0.802).
Senior Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) continues to be ranked among the nation's leaders in several categories, entering the week ranked 22nd in both total assists (6.0) and helpers per match (0.55), while also being listed 26th in match-winners (3.0). Freshman Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) is ranked 22nd in total goals this week after posting a hat trick on Saturday against Queens to push her team-leading tally to nine for the season. The 5-4 forward is also ranked 24th in goals per match (0.818) and 34th in points per contest (1.82).
Sophomore MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) enters the week ranked 40th in goals per match (0.727) and 53rd in points per contest (1.64), while freshman Ally Titsworth (Holmes Beach, Fla.) is listed 90th in assists per match (0.36) after tallying a helper on Saturday. Freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, Fla.) is also ranked 47th in goals against average (0.783) following her sixth clean sheet of the season on Thursday against Converse.
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats host Belmont Abbey College in a pivotal conference clash at 5 p.m. on Tate Field.
