We apologize for the need to reschedule the DBDA 2011 annual meeting; however, we have spent the past few months diligently working with the Town of Boone to restructure the relationship between the Town and the DBDA with a goal of securing active, positive change in downtown Boone.
In order to ensure the success of our organization, there are still a few details to iron out, and as Charles Eames said, “The details are not the details. They make the design”.
There are several reasons for this schedule change, not the least of which is the recent partnership with the Town of Boone in the pursuit of the Appalachian Theater. We initially thought that a decision would be made by the court prior to scheduling the annual meeting; however, we have information that a decision will be made prior to October 25, 2011. Whatever the outcome of the bankruptcy proceedings, the DBDA as an organization, will have new opportunities and decisions to make. We need your input in this process. Please mark your calendar for Tuesday October 25, 2011 from 6:30pm–8:00pm. The meeting will be held at the High Country Press Office, located at 130 North Depot Street in Downtown Boone.
The proposed slate of officers will not change. Thank you for your time and interest in downtown Boone.
The DBDA Board of Directors
