The agenda appears benign—but the joint meeting of the Watauga Commission and Town of Boone Monday could be anything but benign.  The agenda includes “discussion of ETJ appointments,” an issue that has caused controversy and controversial action from both boards, and the threat of restructuring sales tax revenues for Boone from the County Commission; The “Discussion/Clarification of water allocation for the old Watauga High site, currently for sale with negotiations underway that depend on that water; Greenway expansion, as the mostly Boone project will extend past the town limits; and centralized dispatch, with the county trying to respond to new Homeland Security Guidelines, and trying to have all county emergency services dispatched from a central point.  Commissioners have said in their meetings they have heard nothing from Boone on the matter.  The meeting is Monday afternoon, 5pm, at the commissioner’s board room on King Street.
