Chandler Rearden Earns Preseson All-American Honors PDF Print

Lenoir-Rhyne's Chandler Rearden has been named to the 2011 D2Football.com NCAA Division II Preseason All-American First Team. Rearden, a senior offensive tackle from Greenwood, S.C., earns his second preseason All-American honor this summer.

In June, Rearden was named to the Sporting News NCAA Division II Preseason All-American Team.
Rearden had one of the best seasons as an offensive lineman in Lenoir-Rhyne history last fall. Rearden was named to five All-American Teams in 2010 (AFCA, Associated Press, Daktronics, D2Football.com and Don Hansen's) and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
The trophy is given annually to the top offensive lineman in South Atlantic Conference. Rearden is the first player in L-R history to win the award.
A two-time All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team honoree (2008 and 2010), Rearden helped the Bears lead the nation in rushing last season (319.5 yards per game) as Lenoir-Rhyne clinched its first winning season in 16 years.
L-R went 7-4 last year including a 4-3 mark in the South Atlantic Conference while winning four of its last five contests.
Lenoir-Rhyne opens the season on Saturday, September 3, against Concord in Athens, W.Va., beginning at 7 p.m. L-R's first home game is Saturday, September 17 versus league-rival Carson-Newman at Moretz Stadium at 7 p.m.
