A man died after his truck became stuck on a bridge late Saturday just out of Blowing Rock. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:15 pm from the area of 4700 Bills Lane, in the Blackberry Community in northern Caldwell County. Rescue Personnel from Blowing Rock Fire and Rescue and Deputies form the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call. Once on the scene Blowing Rock Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead.  Investigating officers determined that the victim had gotten the wheels of his pickup truck stuck off the side of a gravel crossing culvert.  It appears that the victim exited his vehicle and fell approximately eight feet to a stream below striking his head on the rocks in the stream.  Investigators are waiting on autopsy results to get an exact cause of death.     The victim is Michael Dean Greene, of Guy Lane, Lenoir.  Mr. Greene was 53 years of age.  Investigators do not suspect any foul play in this incident.  Sheriff Alan Jones stated “Our thoughts and prays go out to the family of Mr. Greene, this was a tragic accident.”
