Woods Qualifies For National Team PDF Print

Ryan Woods, who led Watauga High to a state cross country championship in 1997, has taken his talents to a higher level.


The former North Carolina State product and a local business man that operates High Country, Marathon Chiropractic in Boone and Mount Jefferson Chiropractic in Jefferson, as qualified for the U.S. National Running Team. Woods qualified on Sunday, June 26th when he turned in a third-place finish at the Cranmore Hill Climb was an event that took place in the White Mountains range in New Hampshire.
Woods was among six qualifiers to make the team as he turned in a third-place finish. Woods finished the race in 45 minutes, two seconds. Locally, Woods has won the "Bear" four times in his running career. The "Bears" leads to the opening ceremonies for the annual Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain.
