Madison Bumgarner finally took matters into his own hands.

The lefthander, who has been victimized for the most part by the lack of offensive support this season by his teammates, drove in a run and he went eight strong innings as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 at AT&T Park Tuesday night.
Bumgarner gave up three earned runs on four hits and struck out seven in picking up his fifth win of the year. And with Arizona dropping an 11-3 decision to Milwaukee, the Giants (57-41) now lead the National League West by 4 1/2 games. The Giants have won three in a row nad seven of their last eight games.
Bumgarner takes the mound Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
