Richmond moved to third on a wild pitch and Skole stole second base.Christian Villanueva plated both runners with a two-run single making it 5-0.
West Virginia (41-46, 6-13) picked up a run in the bottom of the first against Matt Thompson, but the Crawdads came right back in the top of the second. With one on and two outs, Clark belted his first bomb of the game giving Hickory a 7-1 advantage.
The Power picked up  singles runs, thanks to a wild pitch in the second and a solo home run by Cole White in the third making it 7-3. And West Virginia pulled within two runs of tying the game on Rogelio Noris two-run homer against winning pitcher Ben Henry (3-0) in the fifth.
But a four-run explosion by the Crawdads in the top of sixth settled the issue. Odubel Herrera led off with a single and swiped second base. Two outs later, Teodoro Martinez drove in Herrera with an RBI double. Martinez stole third base, and he scored on an RBI single by Telis to make it 9-5. Clark added the finishing touch by crushing his second home run of the game, a two-run shot that gave the Crawdads a commanding 11-5 lead.
