The Hickory Crawdads beat the Lexington Legends, 3-1, in the first seven-inning game of Friday's doubleheader, before the second game was postponed due to inclement weather and field conditions, with the Crawdads leading, 2-0, in the bottom of the third inning.

Friday's postponed game will be resumed on Saturday at 5 p.m., before another seven-inning game at 7 p.m. on Saturday, with post-game fireworks.
In game one, the Crawdads (49-34, 9-6) got out to a quick start against losing pticher Mike Foltynewicz (4-7), striking in the bottom of the first. Jurickson Profar led off with a double to start the stanza. Two outs later and with Profar standing at third base, Andrew Clark drove an RBI double to straightaway center field, plating Profar for the 1-0 lead.
Cody Buckel dominated the Legends (40-45, 5-10) for the first five innings of his start, limiting Lexington to just one hit and no runs during that stretch. Buckel started the sixth inning with a strikeout and a walk, before giving way to Jimmy Reyes (3-0), who picked up the win in relief. With one on and one out, Tyler Burnett singled, sending Ben Orloff to third. Orloff scored on a sacrifice fly by Telvin Nash, tying the game, 1-1.
The Crawdads retook the lead right away, plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. Christian Villanueva bounced a one-out base hit up the middle, before Alejandro Selen brought him in with a two-out RBI single later in the inning. Selen scored all the way from first base when Yefry Castillo belted an RBI triple to center, putting the 'Dads ahead, 3-1.  Reyes came back out for the top of the seventh and closed out the issue.
The Crawdads moved in front with two runs in the bottom of the third inning right before the rain delay. Three straight singles by Jhonny Gomez, Jonathan Roof and Teodoro Martinez loaded the bases with nobody out. Jurickson Profar then bounced a grounder to second, which led to a fielding error and a throwing error charged to Lexington Enrique Hernandez, allowing both Gomez and Roof to score for a 2-0 lead.
After the play, the umpires halted play, and 30 minutes later, the game was postponed. Friday's postponed game will be completed at 5 p.m. on Saturday, before another seven-inning game at 7 p.m. Saturday evening. There will be fireworks after the second game on Saturday, with Mugs Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans, Harry Potter Night and David "No Way" Burlet. One ticket will be good for both games. Gates open at 4 p.m.
All tickets to Friday's postponed game may be redeemed at the Ticket Office for a future 2011 regular season game, excluding July 23. For questions, call (828) 322-3000 or visit the Ticket Office at L.P. Frans Stadium.
