|Crawdads Win Sixth Straight|

The Hickory Crawdads won their sixth consecutive game Friday night by smashing the Charleston RiverDogs 10-2, before 2,552 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Friday night.With the win, the 'Dads remain in a first-place tie with Greensboro in the Northern Division of the South Atlantic League with only two games remaining in the first half.
The Crawdads (39-27) got the bats going in the bottom of the first against losing pitcher Richard Martinez (0-2). Odubel Herrera doubled his way on with one out beforeTomas Telis belted a two-run homer to gave the 'Dads a 2-0 lead.
Cody Buckel (3-2) struck out the side in the second inning again before Charleston (25-43) got on the board in the third. Kelvin De Leon led off the frame with a home run of his own, cutting the Crawdads lead in half, 2-1.
But Hickory responded by scoring two run against Martinez in the fourth inning. Telis led off with a single, moved to second on a base hit by Andrew Clark and took third when Josh Richmond walked to load the bases with one out.
Jake Skole drove in a run with a fielder's choice. Skole reached safely when the throw home was not in time. Alejandro Selen followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Clark from third, making it 4-1.
The Crawdads finally broke the game open with six runs in the fifth. Jurickson Profar walked and stole second base. Herrera had an RBI single that made it 5-1; he then stole second base and scored on an RBI single by Telis. Christian Villanueva tripled off the left-field wall, plating Telis and Richmond skied a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Villanueva for the 8-1 advantage.
Skole singled and Selen walked, putting runners at first and second. Kellin Deglan scoring both runners with an RBI double to right field, handing the Crawdads a commanding 10-1 lead.
Colby Killian took over for Buckel in the sixth. Bickel gave up one run on five hits with eight strikeouts in five innings. Rob Segedin of Charleston closed out the scoring as he homered in the sixth, making 10-2.
Nick McBride followed with a scoreless seventh inning; Jorge Marban slammed the door as he retired all six men he faced.
