![]() Tom Emma, who played basketball for Duke University from 1980-83, was found dead Tuesday morning following a fall from the 12th floor of the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan. Emma's death is being ruled as an apparant suicide. His body was reportedly found on a second-floor landing of the building.Emma, a former team captain, was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 10th round of the 1983 NBA draft, but he never played in an NBA game. During his four year career at Duke, Emma averaged 7 points-per-game in 110 contests. He poured in a career-high 19 points in Mike Krzyzewski's first game as the program's head coach in 1980. He was president of Power Performance, Inc., a company that specializes in training athletes, at the time of his death.
