NC 194 South has been closed for blasting this afternoon between Dutch Creek Road and Rominger Roads, that as the DOT is doing some widening.  Mid South Drilling is the contractor doing the blasting, and it was not clear as to how much disruption of traffic might be involved. The transmission line project underway along US 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock by Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation is necessitating the closure of a road for most of the day tomorrow.  Possum Hollow Road will be closed on Tuesday, June 7, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., with an alternate route for access to and from Highway 321 and other locations set up using Sunset Drive.
The closure will be needed due to employees with large utility trucks working on the upgrade on Possum Hollow Road.
The project is part of a reliability project to upgrade the electric system in Watauga County due to growth in the area.
