The Watauga High baseball team will sponser two Junior American Legion baseball teams in the summer of 2011.

There will be an A Team, coached by WHS assistant coach Bradley Rudisill, and a B Team that will be coached by JV and varsity assistant Dustin Kerley. The teams begin playing games the first full week of June.
The A Team will open its season at West Caldwell Friday, June 10; the B Team will open its season at McDowell Saturday, June 11. All games are five inning double-headers.
"This will give a lot of our young players a chance to pick up some valuable playing experience during the summer," said Kerley, who coached the WHS junior legion team last summer. "It will only help in developing players for our program. And having two teams this year gives us a chance to play as many young kids as we can."
WHS will play all of its home games at Pioneer Field.
