The Watauga Storm 6th grade basketball team ended their season on a very positive note.

They finished 2nd in the May Day Invitational in Lexington, NC. The team had to play a total of five games on Saturday and ended up with a 3-2 record and 2nd place.  The Storm started the day out taking one on the chin, losing to the Carolina All-Stars.  The girls showed a lot of poise and fought back and defeated the Piedmont Vipers in game two 31-27.  In game three, Storm continued their winning ways by defeating  the Rowan Cobras 33-26.  That set up a semifinal rematch with the Vipers.  The Storm fell behind early, due to intense pressure by the Vipers.  However, the Storm overcome the press, and came back to claim a 32-31 victory.  The win put the Storm into their first tournament final of the year.   They fought hard but ran out of steam in the second half and fell to the Carolina All-Stars 52-20.  The Storm had a very successful first season together.  They ended the season 6-12 on the year.
