The Blowing Rock Town Council is in the midst of finalizing their 2011-2012 budget and will have a second afternoon of work sessions on the budget at 4pm.  The 2011-2012 Recommended Budget totals $6.3 million with an unchanged tax rate set at $0.28 per $100 valuation, but increases water/sewer fees $1.00 per month in both water and sewer fees—

but then has a reduction in the water interconnection fee of $2.00 per month, which results in no net change. All other town charges and fees are unchanged. The target for the council is a June 14th public hearing on the proposed budget at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Council Chambers in Town Hall and a budget in place July 1st. Besides today’s 4pm meeting, additional work sessions to review the budget will be held by the Town Council at on Thursday, May 26th, 4pm in Town Hall. For additional information, please contact Town Hall at 828-295-5200.
