![]() The Hickory Crawdads scored four times in the first two innings and never looked back, cruising to the 4-1 victory against the Augusta GreenJackets, before 999 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Sunday evening. The Crawdads (21-15), who came out swinging, did all their damage against losing pitcher Austin Fleet. Jurickson Profar led off the game with a double, he moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by C Tomas Telis, and Christian Villanueva drove him in with a ground ball to third.The 'Dads kept the bats clicking in the second. Andrew Clark started the frame with a single, before Fleet retired the next two batters. Kellin Deglan kept the stanza going with a two-out single, moving Clark to third base. After Deglan took second on a wild pitch, Teodoro Martinez delivered a two-run singl that gave the Crawdads a 3-0 lead. Martinez promptly stole second base, and he eventually scored on an RBI single to right field by Profar, making it 4-0. Winning pitcher Roman Mendez, who improved his record ro 5-1 on the young season, threw five scoreless innings before Augusta (14-23) pushed a run across thanks to a solo home run by Adam Duvall to start the sixth. Jorge Marban retired six of the seven batters he faced in the seventh and eighth; Colby Killian notched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his first save of the season. NOTES: The 'Dads host the Augusta GreenJackets on Monday at 7 p.m. Kids get to eat for FREE on Monday with the purchase of a ticket.
