After the Hickory Crawdads tied the game with two runs in the eighth, the Augusta GreenJackets came back with four runs in the ninth to take the 8-4 win, before 2,442 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Friday night.The GreenJackets (13-22) struck first with a two-out rally in the top of the third. Adam Duvall smacked a three-run homer with two outs in the inning, giving the GreenJackets in front, 3-0. Augusta added another run in the fourth on an RBI single by Rafael Rodriguez. The Crawdads (20-14) finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Jurickson Profar led off with a double, took third on a passed ball, and scored when Tomas Telis came through with an RBI single, making it 4-1.
Hickory got a little closer thanks to a run-scoring single by Jhonny Gomez in the seventh. They tied the game with a pair of runs in the eighth. Telis drove in a run with an RBI grounder to second; Christian Villanueva advanced to third on that ground ball, and he scored on Josh Richmond's RBI single to right. Richmond had three hits on the night.
However, Augusta responded in the top of the ninth with four runs against losing pitcher Andres Perez-Lobo and Jorge Marban to retake the lead, 8-4.
