ASU Alum Dies in Afghanistan PDF Print

An Appalachian State University graduate has died in fighting in Afghanistan.  Terry L. Varnadore II, 29, of Hendersonville, died April 23 while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom, according to a U.S. military release. He died of wounds suffered when his helicopter went down due to an undetermined cause, and his body was returned home April 30 for burial this past Monday in Mills River.
