The Watauga High women's soccer team dropped a 6-2 decision at Mount Tabor in Winston-Salem Tuesday night.

The Pioneers (11-5-1 overall) fell behind 2-0 in the first half before a pair of goals by Skylar Hicks and Kendyl Baird rallied to tie the game. Hannah Younger had an assist on Hicks' goal. The Spartans snapped the tie with four unanswered goals.
"We had some breakdowns you can't afford to have against a team that's as good as Mount Tabor," said WHS coach Brittany Bolick. "We just have to go back to work and get ourselves ready for the state playoffs."
WHS has lost three in a row. The Pioneers wrap up the regular season at South Caldwell Friday night. The state playoff pairings will be announced Sunday or Monday of next week. WHS, the No.1 seed in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference, will host a first-round game against, most likely, the No.4 seed from the I-Meck Conference out of Charlotte.
