The Georgia Southern University football team has dimissed linebacker Tavaris Williams.
Williams served a voluntary suspension last season. A reason for his dismissal was not given by the University. Williams was arrested in May of 2009 after he gave a false statement to a detective concerning an investigation of sexual assault in Valdosta, Ga. Williams was not a suspect. He started for the Eagles in 2009 and had 47 tackles, two interceptions and he had two fumble recoveries.
