With the news that Osama Bin Laden was killed by US forces just before midnight, ASU students poured from dorms, first spilling out into the Stadium parking lot, then forming an impromptu parade that wound out of the lot and through town.

A crowd estimated at about 4000 formed the celebration parade of pedestrians and vehicles with flag waving students, honking horns, shouting and singing--mostly in an orderly fashion.  The celebration wound back to the Stadium lot, with a number of students taking a plunge in the duck pond before breaking up around 2am.  One student cut her leg and had to be transported from the pond area to Watauga Medical Center.

Bin Laden was found in a luxury compound in Abbottabad Pakistan and killed by a small, elite US force, a force that emerged unscathed from the battle that lead to Bin Laden's death.  Celebrations mirrored those outside the White House and at Ground Zero in New York.
