![]() The Hickory Crawdads wrapped up the series win against the Augusta GreenJackets with an 8-3 victory before 1,661 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Friday night. It marks the fourth consecutive series win for Hickory. The Crawdads (15-7) jumped in front with three runs in the bottom of the second against losing pitcher Shawn Sanford (2-2) for an early 3-0 lead. A one-out single by Jhonny Gomez got the 'Dads going. Kellin Deglan followed with an RBI double off the right-center field wall. With Deglan at third base and one out, Jurick Profar struck belted a run-scoring double and he scored on an RBI single by Odubel Herrera.Winning pitcher Roman Mendez (4-0) retired the first six batters he faced. The GreenJackets (7-15) managed to get on the board in the third. Dan Burkhart and Ydwin Villegas led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Both advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Carlos Willoughby drove in a run with a ground out to second base, making it 3-1. Jake Skole put the contest out of reach as he hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth---the third grand slam the Crawdads have hit this season---which gave Hickory a commanding 7-1 lead.
