A Glendale Springs teen was seriously hurt in an accident early this morning as she was pulling out of her drive on Old Wilkesboro Road.  16-year old Monica Miller backed out into the road and into the path of a Ford F350 pickup truck, the impact hitting right behind the driver’s door on the Toyota Miller was driving. Medics rushed the teen toward a landing zone at Wilbar fire department, but with the Baptist Aircare chopper coming in from Lexington, the ambulance went on and met the chopper at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.  Trooper Olive said information he had was that Monica Miller was in ICU at Baptist.  Her 12-year old brother, the passenger in her car, was not hurt, nor were Steven Parsons, driver, nor Anthony Pitts, passenger, in the truck.  Trooper Olive said that Monica had her driver’s license for only 13 days as of this morning, when the 7:15am accident occurred.
