The accolades just keep pouring in for Appalachian State University pitcher Ryan Arrowood.

Arguably, the best pitcher in the Southern Conference, Arrowood worked his magic once again last Friday with a 4-0 shutout of Samford at Smith Stadium/Beaver Field. Arrowood surrended four hits and struck out eight men in going the distance. It was ASU's first complete-game shutout in three years.
For his efforts, the ASU junior has been named the SoCon Co-Pitcher of the Week. He shares the honor with freshman Logan Cribbs of The Citadel, who blanked South Carolina last Tuesday. On the year, Arrowood is 5-1 with a 2.16 earned-run average. He's given up 14 earned runs in 58 1/3 innings of work with 55 strikeouts.
It's also the second time Arrowood has won the award this season (he was named pitcher of the week on April 4), and Arrowood is also the third ASU pitcher to win the honor this season.
Lawrence Pardo was named pitcher of the week on Febuary 28; Nathan Hyatt won the honor on April 11. The Mountaineers entertain Presbyterian on Tuesday. Our coverage begins at 5:40 pm on AM 1450, WATA.
