 The weather took out most of the Saturday morning activities of the Blue Ridge Wine and Food Fest in Blowing Rock, but Sunday was picture perfect for the finale. Saturday, the tent where the grand tasting was to get underway was under duress from hundreds of gallons of rainwater
 that managed to pool in the top of the structure, and a bucket truck had to be called in to safely empty the water and to straighten out the tent. After inspection for safety, it was mid-afternoon before that part of the event got underway, and the skies had cleared for a beautiful afternoon. The Fire on the Rock chef’s challenge crowned Chef Michael Barbato and Team Chetola 2011 Fire On The Rock Chef Challenge Champion.
