Shrine Bowl Combine Saturday At WHS PDF Print

Watauga High football coach Tim Pruitt has announced that the Pioneers will host the Shrine Bowl Combine for a second consecutive year.

The combine will be held Saturday at Jack Groce Stadium. Kickers, snappers and punters begin at 10 am; all other positions begin at 11 am. The combine is open to the public, and its for rising seniors.
The cost of the combine is $20 (cash only please). All players will compete in the 40-yard-dash, the shuttle run, vertical jump and they must bench press 185 pounds. Each player will also be given the opportunity to work with an actual coach that will be working the Shrine Bowl this season.
The 75th Shrine Bowl will be held at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, Saturday, December 17. Former Pioneer Eric Brietenstein, a rising junior at Wofford College, played in the Shrine Bowl in 2007.
WHS senior Jordan Pineda worked out at the combine last year. He will play in the East-West Senior All-Star Game in Greensboro on July 20. Pineda will grey-shirt at Wake Forest beginning in January of 2012.
