Elon University has announced its football team will play the University of North Carolina in 2012.

The game will be played in Chapel Hill. It's also the first meeting ever between the schools, who are only 40-miles apart. No playing date has been announced as of yet concerning this match-up. The Phoenix was 6-5 last season.
Elon opens the 2011 campaign under first-year coach Jason Swepson at Vanderbilt on September 3. The Phoenix entertains Appalachian State on November 19.
